Malta Lose Second Game
-13/09/2004

Malta had a poor start to their second group game in the European Championship Qualifying Round as they struggled to penetrate the Slovak defence.

Better ball movement saw the team pull to within 10 points, with the chance to cut the deficit further.

Unfortunately, the third quarter saw a breakdown in team offence that allowed the Slovaks to notch up a good number of transition points leaving no doubt about who was going to win the game.

Footwork's three players all played with Addison Bonnici and Chris Sammut, the youngest players in the team playing a bigger contribution than last saturday. It is clear that coach Bruno Dipietrantonio sees them playing a big part in the National Team's future.

Bonnici currently lies joint 10th in the three-point percentage category having scored 50% of his three point attempts, while Chris Sammut has proved he can pick pockets by placing joint 10th in the steals category.
